Valuable inventory

It acts as a valuable inventory by storing the products for your business. It helps the business ventures to ship the orders right on time with the backup of products.  You can get in touch with PeopleVox for more details on maintaining a warehouse – heading to experts for advice is a very worthwhile decision.

Cost effective and economic advantages

You will be happy to know that the storage of products can be economically beneficial for business ventures as well as customers. Does my business need to be authorised by the FCA?

It’s extremely important that you first establish as to whether your company’s proposed business requires the business employer to request for authorisation to continue with regulated activities. For the majority of smaller firms, this would usually involve intermediaries negotiating or  selling investments and/or home financing exercises and/or general insurance. The specific activities and specified investments are highlighted within The Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (Regulated Activities) Order 2001, of which are secondary in terms of legislation under the FSMA.

The Financial Services & Markets Act 2000 (FSMA)

FSMA is considered troubled with the current regulation of financial services and markets within the United Kingdom. Any person, employee, employer who carries out a regulated activity in the United Kingdom under the Section 19 of FSMA must be clearly authorised by the FCA or exempt. Breach of section 19 can be considered a criminal offence and can also be a punishable offence on indictment with a maximum term of up to two years imprisonment and/or a considerable fine.

What activities are regulated?

Specified activities have been defined in Part II of the RAO and consist of:

  • accepting deposits
  • issuing e-money
  • effecting or carrying out contracts of insurance as principal
  • dealing in investments (as principal or agent)
  • arranging deals in investments
  • arranging home finance activities
  • operating a multilateral trading facility
  • managing investments
  • assisting in the administration and performance of a contract of insurance
  • safeguarding and administering investments
  • sending dematerialised instructions
  • establishing collective investment schemes
  • establishing stakeholder pension schemes
  • providing basic advice on stakeholder products
  • advising on investments
  • advising on home finance activities
  • Lloyd’s market activities
  • entering funeral plan contracts
  • entering into a home finance activity
  • administering a home finance activity
  • agreeing to do most of the above activities

Specified investments have been defined in Part III of the RAO and consist of:

  • deposits
  • electronic money
  • rights under a contract of insurance
  • shares
  • instruments creating or acknowledging indebtedness
  • sukuk (shariah compliant debt instruments)
  • government and public securities
  • instruments giving entitlement to investments
  • certificates representing certain securities
  • units in a collective investment scheme
  • rights under a stakeholder pension scheme
  • rights under personal pension scheme
  • options
  • futures
  • contracts for differences
  • Lloyd’s syndicate capacity and syndicate membership
  • rights under funeral plan contracts
  • rights under regulated mortgage contracts
  • rights under a home reversion plan
  • rights under a home purchase plan
  • rights to or interests in anything that is a specified investment listed, excluding ‘Rights under regulated mortgage contracts’, ‘Rights under regulated home reversion plans’ and Rights under regulated home purchase plans’

For considerably smaller businesses, there has been several developed standard permission profiles that contain regulated investment and activities types. These can be found within business application packs. If there are no suitable profiles that match your business you will unfortunately need to put together your own.

The specified investment and activities types that are regulated are described in further detail within chapter two of the Perimeter Guidance Manual (PERG).

Business Test

For an activity or investment to be regulated, it needs to be carried on ‘By way of business’, under section 22 of the FSMA.

Business Exclusions

Exclusions are known as provisions that turn activities into unregulated activities, if they would otherwise be regulated activities. If you have significant confidence on an exclusion for an activity, you do not require FCA authorisation to implement it.

Examples of exclusions:

  • overseas persons exclusion
  • introducer exclusion

Who is cleared from authorisation?

A person who is a selected delegate is exempt from requiring authorisation. Further information on this subject can be located within the factsheet ‘Becoming an appointed representative’. Other examples can also include:

  • a professional business (a business of accountants, actuaries, or solicitors) continuing with specific regulated activities that are entirely incidental to its primary business
  • a local authority or specific type of housing body continuing with mortgage activities or insurance mediation

Financial promotions

An invitation or inducement to engage in investment activity or also known as a financial promotion. Investment activity is outlined under section 21(8) in the FSMA as:

  • offering to enter into or entering an agreement the production or performance of which by or or the other party constitutes a reserved activity
  • exercising any privileges conferred by a controlled investment to gain, dispose of, endorse or convert a reserved investment

Nevertheless, under section 21 of the FSMA, a person who is unauthorised is disallowed to communicate a financial promotion within the United Kingdom, in the progress of business, unless either:

  • its contents are approved and confirmed for the intention of section 21 by an authorised person or (2) it’s subject to an exception under the Financial Services & Markets Act 2000 (Financial Promotion) Order 2005 (FPO)
  • controlled activities and investments are recommended under Schedule 1 of the FPO and contain such things as buying bonds or shares, managing investments and also selling insurance.

Anyone wishing to continue with one or more regulated activity, through the way of business, must first request authorisation (unless they can submit to the terms of exclusion or are cleared).

Money Laundering Regulations 2007 (MLR)

There are also organisations responsible for the registration of businesses that handle activities under Annex 1 of the Banking Coordination Directive (BCD), in extension to business authorised by the FCA under FSMA. These activities are also outlined under the Money Laundering Regulations 2007.

Payment Services Regulations 2009 (PSRs)

The Payment Services Directive (PSD) primary goal is to supply a common regulatory path to the supplying of electronic payment services. This regulation came into force within the United Kingdom on 1st November back in 2009 with assistance from the PSRs.

Electronic Money Regulations 2011 (EMRs)

The EMRs, is known to implement the secondary Electronic Money Directive (2EMD) within the United Kingdom, which came into action back in 2011 on the 30th of April. 2EMD primary goal is to stimulate the growth of the current electronic money market.

As ever we always recommend seeking advice from a professional compliance company such as Pragmatic Compliance. They help with FCA authorisation & the latest introduction, Annex IV – Gabriel.

Letterpress printing is one of the earliest printing techniques used. Its basic operation is a mold or template is pressed into the paper thus creating a slightly elevated finish. As technology advances, the printing shops and companies using letterpress printing machines become far fewer over the decades. As of today, only a small portion of printing shops have letterpress machines while most are using digital printers. Nonetheless, letterpress printing still evolved over time. There are still letterpress machines which try to overcome the challenges of its predecessors. And when it comes to the available letterpress printing machines, there are three major types of letterpress printing machines developed. These are antique platen-type letterpress, flat-bed cylinder letterpress and rotary letterpress printing machines. capsule_duetcoverdetail1

Here are some details regarding these types of letterpress printing machines.

  1. Antique Platen-like Letterpress Printer – Just like its name, it is the first type of letterpress printing machine produced commercially. This letterpress printing machine was mass produced during the 1800s and become the foundation of stationeries used by royalties and wealthy individuals for invitation cards and official letters. It is rarely used nowadays and its production has been long stopped by the printing industry. This letterpress printing machine consists of a letterpress bed and a platen. A platen is a smooth surface to support the paper when the letterpress bed is pressed into the paper. This letterpress printing machine is a lot slower compared to the other two letterpress machines.
  2. Flat-bed Cylinder Letterpress Printer – After the platen-like letterpress printer, the flat-bed cylinder letterpress printer followed and became available in the market. It is faster than a previous letterpress printer and uses a bed and a plate to operate. Though there are still several printing shops which uses such printing machine, its production was also stopped for some time now.
  3. Rotary Letterpress Printer – Rotary letterpress printing machine is the latest letterpress printer available in the market. It is far more efficient and faster than the previous letterpress printers. The other term for rotary letterpress printer is web-fed rotary printer. The earlier rotary printer are sheet-fed rotary printers which are obsolete and replaced by newer rotary printers. The quality of the printouts it can produce is higher than other letterpress printing machines. Another major advantage of rotary letterpress printer is its ability to print multiple copies at the same time. This type of letterpress printer is the most common and widely-used by printing shops and stationery companies.

If you are planning to engage in letterpress printing business, it is better to purchase the newer rotary letterpress models to make your business operation efficient.

Choosing A Corporate T-shirt Printer For Your Event T-shirts

Nowadays, a lot of companies and events use T-shirts to either promote or give off a good impression. But how do you choose a corporate T-shirt printer for your event T-shirts? There are few things that one should consider — like the background of the printer, the quality of the shirts, the price, the location, and of course the employees of the company. Here are some of the reasons why you should consider such:

  1. The background of the company

It wouldn’t harm you if you would do a little background check of the company. Make sure that the company is an established one when it comes to the job. Also, you have to consider the other events that they have handled. Were they able to deliver on time? That is of course one of the few things that you have to consider during the background check. If they tend to deliver late or last-minute, maybe you should try checking out other companies.

  1. Quality is a big point.

When you canvass, you would of course see samples. This is the time when you ought to make sure the company makes quality prints on event T-shirts. You wouldn’t want to pay for shirts that are not of good quality, right? This would reflect the event you are holding and even your own company.

  1. How about the price?

Money is always a big factor. Every event has a budget. But even if a strict budget is in place, you would always want to make sure that you pay for the right goods. This includes event T-shirts. There are a lot of corporate T-shirt printing companies around, and there are of course good deals as well. Ask around and be aware of the correct cost that you should pay for. You want to get your money’s worth, indeed. T-Shirt Box Liverpool seem to have a really good reputation.

  1. The location of the printer

Is the printing company far or near from your office? This is also a factor that one should consider because if it is a bit far from your own location, this may be the cause of delay during delivery. Also, the cost of deliveries if the location is far may add up to the cost of every shirt that will be printed.

  1. The employees of the printing company

Consider the kind of service the employees give. If the employees are accommodating and very kind to customers, all transactions will be smooth-sailing. Who wouldn’t want that? And remember, a transaction with few to zero misunderstandings is the kind of service that you would want to keep patronizing for future events and T-shirt printing needs.

Cutting Through The Rubbish: 8 Tips in Choosing the Right SEO Agency

The number of competing SEO agencies today makes picking the right one difficult. Avoid wasting time and money on the wrong SEO agency by following these eight simple tips.

  1. Go for an agency that has a realistic promise

An SEO agency that is confident with their services can guarantee improved ranking without thinking twice. However, guaranteeing you with the top spot in the search engine results pages (SERP) is out of their hands. In fact, no legit SEO agency can guarantee that. There are a lot of variables to be considered, such as your competitors, content buildup, and the specific keywords used by the searchers. A promise that is too good to be true has to be bogus.

  1. Avoid black hat SEO strategies

Many bogus SEO agencies offer the faster route to their clients—black hat SEO. This strategy uses illegal and manipulative SEO services to trick search engines into ranking websites artificially. Such strategies include the creation of doorway pages, link farms, spamming, keyword stuffing, hidden links, and cookie dropping. Be wary because Google does not take these violations lightly.

  1. Look for customized services

Almost all SEO agencies have catalogued services for clients to choose from. However, mixing and matching these services, and doing some more adjustments should be performed according to your specific needs. Other considerations include the current state of your SEO strategy, your current and new target market, your location, the competitors in your specific location, and your niche. Remember that even an expensive gown does not look good on everyone.

  1. Scout for a local SEO agency first

Major companies want to be in the clientele of internationally acclaimed SEO agencies. The question is, do you have to? You do not always need to go for the larger agencies because localized SEO services are sometimes more appealing to your local market. Instead of looking for the top agency in the country, why not look for the top agency in your city first? They know your market better than any bigger but farther agencies.

  1. Ask for detailed strategies

When an SEO agency says that they will put you in the SERP’s first page, ask them how they will accomplish that. Everything should be coordinated with you down to the last detail because the agency’s plans may not always be in harmony with yours. For instance, an agency can offer you the creation of keyword-enriched articles to increase traffic from organic searches. However, these articles should not only strengthen your niche but should also complement your affiliate marketing strategy, social media marketing strategy, etc.

  1. Ask for your prospect’s clientele

Not all agencies are willing to divulge their big clients, but it is also suspicious to not have any reference at all. To begin with, not every client wants to remain anonymous since the main objective of SEO marketing is more exposure anyway. It is better to have a reference to see if its rank from organic searches really improved.

How? Search using location- or service-specific keywords that will match the website (the client). Is it in Google’s first to fifth page? For instance, for a website that offers roofing services in New York, you can search using “roofing service New York” or any variation close to that.

  1. Check your prospect’s rank

There is an adage in Africa that says not to buy a shirt from a naked man. Patronizing irony in this sense will only waste your time and money. Why go for an SEO agency that does not rank well? To be fair, there are probably hundreds of agencies competing in your location (or your market’s location, in case it is overseas or in another state). The same trick as above applies.

Search using the best keywords that apply to your prospect. Going specific should put them in the first few pages. If not, then it is either that they do not apply their SEO services to their own website, or that they are simply terrible at it. Also analyze the contents of their website. Are the contents well written? Is the design optimized for viewing? Is navigation fool-proof?

  1. Be critical about independence

As a business owner, you should know that there are more pressing matters to be dealt with than monitoring the SEO agency step by step. Although coordination is crucial, the agency should know how to solve the problems, improve where necessary, and close the loopholes just by analyzing your website and asking you about your preferences and plans. You should know every detail of the plan, but there should not be a need to involve you in every execution. After all, they know their job better than you do.

Also, the SEO agency should be able to commit to sticking with the schedule without close monitoring because a day of website upgrading might mean a day of downtime. A day of downtime is a day of lost revenue. There are SEO agencies that offer a money-back guarantee, exactly like www.seoessex.co if their services are not completed within a specified duration in the contract.

How NLP can help your business success

One of the main reasons people become interested in neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) is to gain more confidence, which in turn triggers self-worth, helping them move on in life. The same concept can be beneficial as well in finding success in business.

Confidence Muscle Exercise

Below is an exercise (written by Toby & Kate McCartney) that people can take and apply in their work and career. It uses the very concept of improving confidence levels to “install” new, positive habits in daily life. Throughout the course of the exercise, the unconscious mind won’t be aware that the events which the person is thinking about aren’t actually happening in real life. As a result, the person will feel confident and positive. It is important to remember this mantra: We are what we repeatedly do. Hence, the more this feeling is repeatedly felt, the more the person is going to feel a growth in confidence — making it a new, positive habit.

Here are the steps in this exercise:

  1. Recall a time when you were really confident — the more specific, the better. Remember every single detail if possible.
  2. Focus on what you can feel, hear, and see.
  3. Start identifying areas in the body where you feel the confidence resonate. Feed the feeling and make it grow throughout your body. Whenever it feels good, make a fist and squeeze your fingers.
  4. It’s time to go back to the present.
  5. Repeat this using five other events from your lifetime. Keep making fists whenever you feel really good.
  6. Assess what you’ve accomplished so far and make a fist again. Notice how you begin to feel the familiar sense of confidence coming back inside you. This is just like any physical exercise — the more you perform it, the stronger the feeling of confidence becomes.

Now, you’ve created something that you can consciously control and use when you need to feel confident — something that will come really handy during business transactions and whenever you’re faced with difficult decisions.

Are you ready for a test? Think of a particular situation involved in your business or work that really makes you nervous — something that you lack confidence in. Now, as you think about this nerve-racking event, try making a fist and let the feelings of confidence come back to you. You can immediately notice that you are starting to feel differently — in a positive way — about this event, be it from the present or future.

Keep this in mind:

The main thing to remember is to choose past events that evoked very high levels of confidence and positivity. If it’s not possible to think of more than five different events, then you can use the same one over and over. This will work well, too.

Also, don’t worry if this exercise doesn’t work instantly for you. It takes more than a few runs for some people — just like in physical fitness, it takes a number of tries and lengths of time for different people to develop the confidence muscle. Just keep at it. All you really need is patience and consistency. In the end, it’ll be more than worth it — that’s a guarantee.

Excellent tips to beef up the security for the home or business

Have you ever given improving the security for the home or business a serious thought? We live in an unsafe world. Dangers lurk in every corner.

Even our homes aren’t completely as safe as we would like to believe. The number of burglary incidents in both commercial and residential areas has seen a continuous upward growth throughout the years.

So what can we do to address this issue? There are many ways to improve the security for the home

  1. Install a surveillance system that records everything that is happening in your immediate surroundings. Some people make their surveillance systems visible to deter any intruders when they see it. You can also install some hidden ones if they ever mess up the ones that are out in plain sight.
  1. Make sure all of your locks work properly. If you find any that aren’t up to the task, replace them. Get the services of a good locksmith to tell you which ones are good for you and have them install it for you, as well as make duplicate copies of the key for each family member.
  1. Install some motion detection lights. These lights are designed to turn on if and when they detect any movement. These lights are best paired with a good surveillance system as it enhances the images captured on video.
  1. Install a loud siren just in case anyone does try to break in. This cost-effective security measure that you can install in your own house can alert anyone within earshot that there is something wrong happening in your house. A loud siren also has the potential to scare away burglars before they can get away with anything in your possession.
  1. Install a silent alarm that is directly wired to the local authorities. You can find this feature in most electronic security locks. These silent alarms alert the police and will direct them to your house if they ever go off.
  1. Perform a security drill that each family member must be able to do by heart. The security drill is meant for everyone to exit the house in an orderly fashion to get away from harm as safely as possible.
  1. If you have the right resources, install a panic room. In a situation where you or any of your family members can’t get away quickly enough, a panic room will help you stay safe longer even if the criminal elements are still within your own house. This may be costly, but if and when the need arises, it’ll be totally worth it!

So for more security for the home or business, make sure you get a good surveillance system that records everything that is happening in your surroundings and get a good local locksmith too! Also, try to make sure that your house has all the visible deterrents that tell burglars and other intruders to stay away.

Seven pointers to help you learn how to start your first business

So you have finally decided to set up your own business. But have you found office space yet? We highly recommend serviced offices from loc8 in Liverpool street. A healthy environment is extremely important for your employees. You are tired of having to work for a company not your own and you want to give yourself the chance to own and manage a business that is entirely yours. The question is: how do you go about it?

It is said that the hardest part in creating your first business is in the establishment of a solid foundation. After all, you don’t want your business to stand on shaky ground; you want it to be solid and stable. But therein lies the challenge.

Here are some pointers to help you learn how to start your first business:

  1. Dwell on what you know and what you are sincerely passionate about.

Running your own business presents its own risks, but such risks can be significantly reduced if you are working on something that you are familiar with, or at the very least, deeply interested in. Find out what your interests and passions are. From there, identify ways on how to monetize such interests. If you are going to start your own business, it might as well be something that you are emotionally invested in.

  1. Research, research, research.

An indispensable part of any business enterprise is the need for research. This means that you have to go out of your way to learn as much about your business ideas as possible. Identify your target market and demographic, check out possible locations if you are planning of a brick and mortar store, inquire about rates with suppliers, find out if there is a demand for the product or service you are planning to offer, and talk with people who have the know-how and skills related to your business ideas.

  1. Know where to source your capital from.

Ah, money. This is arguably one of the most difficult aspects in your efforts to learn how to start your first business. Where exactly do you get your capital from? Will it come from your own savings? Will you have to apply for a loan from the bank? Will you need to look for investors? You have to run down numbers and figure out exactly how much you need to get started and keep the operations going for a certain period of time. Take all the expenses into account and decide from there which financial route to take.

  1. Be realistic.

For many businesses, the first few days are often the toughest. How do you establish your presence? How do you get started with the marketing? Where do you get your clients from? Most importantly, how long will it take before you get a return of your investment? These questions and more are just some of the things you need to keep in mind as you go about your business operations. It is important not to be disheartened by dismal numbers at the beginning. Rather, you should take this as an opportunity to learn and improve.

  1. Create a sustainable plan for growth.

In setting up your own business, you need to have a long-term vision. You need to know exactly where you want your business to be after a given period of time. You should also have backup plans in case things don’t turn out exactly the way you thought they would. Part of having good business acumen is the foresight to prepare for risks and other unexpected challenges, as well as the ability to cash in on opportunities when they come.

  1. Be ready to fail.

The chance of failing is an inherent part of any business enterprise. The key of course is to do your best to prevent this from ever happening. However, there are certain circumstances that are simply beyond anyone’s control. As such, the chance of experiencing failure is something that you as a businessperson should watch out and be ready for. Should this happen, take heart in the knowledge that you tried your best and that whatever lessons you have picked up from this experience will certainly be valuable in your future endeavors.

  1. And finally, be innovative and creative.

In a very saturated business environment, the one that presents the most unique and innovative product or service almost always comes out on top. Today’s business economy calls for creativity and innovation. In setting up your own business, one of the things you should always consider is how to put a fresh, novel, and marketable spin to your ideas.

In sum, it is scary and exciting at the same time to learn how to start your first business. However, never allow your fears get the better of you. If you have a good idea in mind, work on it and turn it into a promising venture, taking into account of course the valuable business tips mentioned above.

New shock ruling on holiday and overtime pay

There has be a significantly new change that has been decided by a British Employment Tribunal which means that UK businesses could be faced with millions if not billions of pounds in loss. The Employment Tribunal has now ruled that any overtime accrued by any member of staff must be taken into account when an employer calculates the employees holiday pay.

What Does This Mean?

This new change is based on non-guaranteed overtime. Claims made by employees towards their employer will be limited.

The new requirements will involve additional national insurance and payroll costs for businesses of a variety of sizes, but these necessities will be felt considerably by small businesses. The exercise of having to include these additional payments even when employees are not at work can be a financial blow to small businesses across the UK. The FSB has recently warned that companies may be faced to make redundancies or could even force closure. Many businesses may be concerned about the extra management time and costs involved in reviewing and renewing their employment contracts along with working practices and having to alter payroll systems. This will be a real burden for companies who don’t house a large HR team.

The appeal received by the Employment Appeal Tribunal (known as the EAT) of whom made this ruling were recently brought by the law firm Squire Patton Boggs. This is a firm who highlighted that the EAT had reached 3 primary conclusions:

  • Non-guaranteed overtime will now be required to be taken into account when business employers calculate their employees holiday entitlement. This is primarily with regards to the four week entitlement that is extracted from the WTD (Working Time Directive). The current EU law states that employees are entitled to secure “normal remuneration” for annual overtime and leave would need to be regular to amount to this common remuneration.
  • The WTR who were implemented within the United Kingdom back in 1998 must acknowledge the requirements within the WTD. The Employment Appeals Tribunal highlighted that it was obligated to interpret the WTR as long as possible. This is in relation to its purpose and wording and was planned if necessary to investigate into the WTR to accomplish this.
  • Lastly there will be a limited opportunity for employees to claim back their underpayments of holiday pay. The EAT were capable to conclude that workers were not capable to claim any underpayments for holiday as deducted unlawfully from their payslip, where a time frame of over a three months duration had passed between pay deductions.

This means for employees who choose to work overtime could claim for extra holiday pay. Presently, only a basic pay is considered when calculating payment for holidays. The tribunal also ruled that employees are able to make backdated claims, but for a limited time only. Nevertheless, the ruling could be passed to the Court of Appeal, this means we could expect a final decision in years to come. The decision has extensive implications for businesses where employees are required to do work overtime as a normal part of their job. Lawyers have mentioned that the tribunal wasn’t coherent as to whether the ruling applied to employees who voluntary work overtime.

Implications for Businesses

This ruling will unmistakably bring many implications for businesses across the United Kingdom and to know where you stand it’s recommended that you to speak to a legal professional.

It’s now down to the EAT and other official bodies to agree as to how far claims can go back for employers. It’s possible that a handful of claims may even date back to 1998, when the UK Working Regulations were originally introduced. The government has now estimated that in total, approximately a sixth of individuals currently in employment will work overtime and will be entitled to repayment, which totals up to 5 million people.

For a majority of businesses this may be an additional expense that will need considering into their business, but for many this may cause a serious problem for the continuity of their business. We would always recommend to seek advice from a professional payroll service like CPS Payroll Services. The importance of an employment contract

When many people speak about a contract of employment, they usually have a written document in mind. However, a contract of employment doesn’t necessarily need to be written in a document at all. A contract is another term for an agreement. Nevertheless, employers who choose not to place the terms of employment within a written document, do so at their peril.

An solid and detailed employment contract is extremely important and not to mention beneficial to both the employer and the employee. A well written and evaluated contracted should outline the obligations, the rights, the wrongs for each party involved. Not only does it highlight the rules and regulations of an employment role but it also aids in job security for the employee and can protects the employer from specific risks such as the release of confidential employer details and information after employment term is finished. A handful of jurisdictions require a written up employment contract for specific job roles.

Employment Term

Many employment contracts set a clear and definitive outline of the employment term. This reassures employees a job as long as they don’t infringe the terms within the contract, and also allows employers to dismiss a member of staff at the end of their term. The length of this contracted term is often carefully negotiated before starting the employment.

Employment Termination

A good example of an employment contract will determine exactly what offenses can lead to a dismissal or official termination of the employee. This helps both parties, as it ensures that the employee knows which activities or actions are required and which are entirely forbidden. This means rendering a serious offence less likely during employment. It’s recommended that the current labor law of this specific jurisdiction should be considered to make sure that the terms of the employment contract do not contradict with any legal requirements.

Employment Duties

The duties and job roles of both the employee and the employer should be outlined clearly and spelled out within business employment contract. This section of the contract should primarily include the job duties of the employee, along with benefits and salary. If there are any overtime incentives, this should also be included within the contract document. It also should be mentioned within the contract that the employer holds the right to transfer the employee to another job role or position, however if this happens, the employment contract needs to be updated to reflect the employee’s new duties in their new job role.

Non ompetition Covenants

If the new employee will have specific access to various confidential files or company information, it is extremely important from the employer’s perspective to include a clause that prevents the employee from divulging any details or information to others. An employer may also want to prohibit the employee from working with or for other business competitors, although the labor laws of many jurisdictions differ on the acceptability on such a clause. Nevertheless, in both cases, non compete clauses are commonly binding on the employee for a specific period (this could be two or three years, for example) after termination of the employment.

Dispute Resolution

Another good example of an employment contract will clearly outline dispute resolution measures that can minimise the expenses and considerable amount of time of a legal courtroom battle that in most cases neither party can or wants to pay for. Procedures to settle a dispute usually reduce expenses and time, although many appeals from from arbitration decisions are commonly quite difficult. A range of jurisdictions will require that employment disputes should be brought to an appropriate employment dispute (disagreement) resolution tribunal, and if in which case, then no dispute resolution clause within the contract is necessary or required.
